Upcoming LHA engagement – exhibiting at cleaning expo and educating students on their rights as labour hire workers

In the coming months, the Labour Hire Authority (LHA) will have a presence at a major cleaning expo, and exhibit at the RMIT Part-Time & Casual Jobs Fair to educate prospective labour hire workers on their rights under the law.
In August, over 50 providers new to the industry attended one of two tailored LHA webinars, to learn about key obligations for businesses under Victorian labour hire law and the processes around licensing.
The sessions covered the following key topics:
- business obligations under Victorian labour hire law
- current focus of labour hire licensing, compliance and enforcement
- tools and resources to support business
- questions and answers.
Upcoming events
Labour hire providers new to the industry, or those wanting a refresher, can register for an upcoming LHA information session in October.
Webinar for new providers in high-risk industries
New labour hire licence holders in the commercial cleaning, security, meat and poultry processing, and horticulture industries are invited to attend this free information session on Thursday, 1 October 2026
This one-hour presentation will cover:
- your obligations as a labour hire provider
- standard licence conditions in your industry
- an overview of your licence transactions
- tools and resources to support your business
- an opportunity to ask questions.

Webinar for new providers
If you obtained your licence within the last 12 months, we recommend that you attend this free information session on Wednesday, 7 October.
The webinar introduces key obligations for businesses under Victorian labour hire law, as well as the processes around licensing.
This one-hour presentation for new providers in other industries will cover important information, including:
- your obligations as a licensed labour hire provider
- an overview of your licence transactions including changes from 1 June 2026
- risks and best practice for labour hire providers
- tools and resources to support businesses
- an opportunity to ask questions.

LHA presence at upcoming expos
LHA will have booths at two upcoming expos held in Melbourne in September and October.
These events will enable LHA to engage with providers, hosts and workers, providing education about labour hire licensing, the tools available to support business compliance, and how to report problems to LHA.
